As a child, I tortured my parents and relatives with impossible questions: How does the moon stay up? Why does it always face the same way? As I grew older, the questions became more abstract or metaphysical. The existence of existence makes no sense. What must have preceded even the Big Bang? What is the cosmic thread that binds it all? Studying the world religions, native cosmologies, and philosophies provided many insights. But, most importantly, they left me to think for myself.
